The co-founders with years of experience in the automotive and tourism sector, having seen the opportunity within the country’s geographical location and agricultural based economy have been inspired to, form the company Deranya.
Chaminda Perera has 20+ years of experience in the automotive sector and he is the Co-founder of Deranya (Private) Limited. Prior to this he was a director at Associated Motorways (Private) Limited, CEO Ideal Motors & Ideal 2W (Pvt) Ltd, CEO of Chandra Senanayake Holdings (Automotive Sector) and CEO of Regency Automotive Sector subsidiary of IWS Holdings. During his automotive tenure, he was responsible for brands such as Jaguar, Porsche, Volvo, Proton, GM, SsangYong, Piaggio, Renault, New Holland tractors, Yamaha Leisure, Yamaha Generators, Castrol Lubricants and Mahindra & Mahindra. He also spent a brief time with airline industry working for British Airways in Colombo. At the business chamber, he is the Senior Vice President of Sri Lanka China Business Council. Studied at St. Joseph’s College Colombo and holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from Drake Business School in NY USA.
Ishani Perera has 14 years of experience in the airline industry, and she is the Co-founder of Deranya (Private) Limited. During her airline tenure, she was responsible for Emirates airline ticket office and thereafter British Airways. At British Airways she also headed and was responsible for a global charity project called silver lining. Contributor and enthusiast of organic farming and spend time encouraging organic farmers and products. Studied at Bishop’s College Colombo and holds a diploma in airline industry.
